Orthopedic Massage
This is one of my favorite styles of massage to practice and the modality that coined the phrase, “Melanie Massage.” I am most known for my technical precision with treatment based site-specific work. I utilize an integrative approach with a foundation in Orthopedic Massage, a form of soft tissue manipulation including fascial release, muscle energy techniques, transverse friction, and neuromuscular reeducation. Designed to decrease adhesions and normalizing the position of soft tissue. This is done by releasing the excessive torsion and thus lengthening the connective tissue overall. This results in improved joint mobility and peripheral nerve function. A specific action/treatment plan is created for these 60-to-90-minute sessions based on the clients’ individual needs. These sessions are designed to treat a specific muscular imbalance, chronic pain or discomfort, treatment from a motor vehicle accident, and is often used in conjunction with chiropractic care and/or physical therapy.
Motor Vehicle Collision
This modality provides specific treatment to a region of the body as prescribed by a referring physician, (accompanied with a written prescription) for care, treatment, and injury recovery due to a motor vehicle accident or collision. These treatments range from 1-6 weeks in duration (or more depending upon severity) with client receiving weekly treatments to increase injury rehabilitation in the affected areas.

Sports Massage
Fortunately, my massage career has taken me to some challenging places and afforded me the opportunity to work on some of the most amazing elite (NFL) athletes, youth athletes, weekend warriors, performing artists and musicians. All of which are extremely dedicated to their sport, art, and craft. These clients bring some of the biggest challenges. Repetitive stress injury or repetitive stress disorder creates muscular imbalances and postural anomalies in the body. Sports Massage can help prevent injury, speed up recovery from recent injuries, and improve performance overall. The techniques I use provide increased mobility in the joints and surrounding soft tissue structures. I use an integrated approach and general understanding of athletic mentality in helping to achieve the goals for each session.
